Hands down, my favorite part of living in Europe is the possibility for short city breaks to nearby countries. I’ve been able to visit a fair number of countries cheaply that normally, would merit full-scale planning and a lot more money. So, when we found cheap fares on Aer Lingus to go to Amsterdam for the weekend we jumped on it. We were able to stay at a friend’s apartment, making it a very affordable weekend.

The 26th Year in Review
In a few days I’ll leave my mid twenties and enter my late. I feel like I just wrote my 25th year post, and the past two years have been an absolute whirlwind. It’s been an incredible year, and so much has happened. So, what did 26 look like for me?
It was a year of new, and firsts, and constant change. And probably far too much time spent in airports.
September in Dublin, the Second Round.
The six of us sat around the table eating dinner together. It felt odd, this little table crowded into the corner in such a vast, unadorned room with two photos leaning haphazardly against the radiator. The television was on mute in the background with music videos from the Middle East skipping in and out. I have never been a friend with someone from Saudi before, and this was the first time I had seen her without her hijab. We talked casually in class, and around town, but here in her home she was a different person, at least, to me. Continue reading
