She’s here! Born 10/23 in the early afternoon. Insert here the overwhelming sense of love mixed with indescribable life altering feelings of having a newborn. Truly, words would be inadequate. In reality, neither of us knew how’d we react, we knew sometimes it took time to bond with your baby, and that it would be ok if that were true for us. But, from the moment she entered the world, we were absolutely done for. Weekend Views: Running in Half Moon Bay
Apparently, we’re going to have a baby in the next few weeks. It’s twelve days from my due date, so most likely less than 20 until we meet this little person! We’re both feeling pretty calm about the whole thing, for now at least. Excited, maybe slightly nervous? But mostly positive. I’ve had quite possibly the easiest pregnancy ever, so I’m not yet “over it.” Although, I’m pretty over talking about pregnancy. It’s a pretty boring topic at this point! And I’m excited to get back physically to doing things I love. While I’m so glad I’m still running at 38+ weeks, it also happens to be fall marathon season and my jealously is pretty high.
Brewery Shower
I’m not fully sure where time is going! Almost Two weekends ago we had our second shower in my hometown in WA State. By some stroke of luck Alex actually had the three day weekend off and flights made it possible for him to fly up. It would have been fun either way, but significantly less so without half of the reason we’re celebrating! I still don’t fully get the appeal of all women showers. I mean, we are far more involved during these 9 months, but also the partner is pretty important too! Plus Alex hasn’t been to Pullman in five years, which seems so absurd! Continue reading
