Nashville: A Half Marathon to Remember

I spent the last week running, eating, and spending time with good friends. Basically, as ideal of a week as is possible (minus the sad lack of Alex joining). Back in the fall, before I knew we’d be moving to the Bay Area I registered for the RNR Nashville Half. So instead of just another half, it ended up being an excuse to visit friends. And so, Wednesday before the race I hopped on a plane and headed back to Music City.

Nashville Fall: Denver and Stanford.

Word dump of all the happenings.

I’ve neglected this blog for awhile now. So much has happened in the past few months, it’s now December and we’re counting down the final weeks of living in the South. Because December 29th we’ll be packing up (once again) and heading back to the Bay Area. A fact that surprises us still. It hasn’t sunk in at all. Even as we make all of the arrangements, it doesn’t seem real. In part, because it seems too good.

Nashville: Month Two

A Very Important Discovery

Two months. Apparently that’s the amount of time it takes to move to a new city, settle in, and for it to begin to resemble something like home. Of course, with the knowledge that we’re very likely to leave 10 months from now it’s hard to settle too much. But we’re not about to let our time in Nashville be purely transitional. Instead we’ve dived in, and are throughly enjoying our time here.

The Nashville Running Scene

Ten days after arriving in Nashville I walked onto the track in Brentwood TN at 6AM.┬áPreviously a solo runner I decided in this new city training with a group would be a great way to stay motivated and perhaps meet new friends. This first group was dedicated to track workouts. I was nervous, I’d done some speed training before, but still considered myself to be a relative newbie to the track. Continue reading
