NYC Round Two

We left New York last time feeling relief, to leave the heat, the chaos the general unpleasantness of being in NYC in July (or, in general). This time, however, we had a pretty great month. A lot of this we owe to where we stayed, the Upper East Side, instead of Harlem. Which furthers our desire to not live in NYC, knowing that quality of life is directly related to where in the city we live (at least, for us). And knowing we can’t afford to be happy in the city. But, for a month, living in a good location made our time more pleasant (minus the subways, hate that necessary evil forever).

Atlanta: Recap

Before we left I had a chat with our airbnb host, as I was telling her how much we enjoyed the city she told me, “yeah, you know I’ve lived a lot of places in my life, but Atlanta is just so livable.” She has indeed lived a multitude of places, including San Francisco (Height-Ashbury, back in the day), so I trust her. And it’s true, for a large city Atlanta is just really livable. It’s not just the low cost of living, or the pleasant weather, the great food, access to outdoors, or gorgeous neighborhoods. All of a sudden it was our last weekend in the US. 13 weeks down, only one to go until we head back to Ireland.  It’s been a great summer, 10 cities, 13,000 miles flown, family, new friends, old friends, and incredible adventures.
