Eating, and other Adventures in Georgetown
Georgetown is easily one of Asia’s best food cities. As a self proclaimed foodie (not to mention professionally trained chef) I feel embarrassed I didn’t really know about it until recently. How did I not know about this place? We’ve spent four days eating our way through the city. It has been, delicious. One entire day was dedicated to following Eating Asia’s suggested tour. We’ve eaten Indian, Malay, Chinese, and more. I’ve had some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had, in and out of India. I’ve also eaten far too many noodles and cups of kopi. I regret nothing.
The Final Week in Asia
136 days, 4 to go until I’m stateside. It’s nearly impossible to comprehend this. I’ve been planning this trip for so long, and the end of it has continued to feel like an abstract point in time I may or may not ever reach. In the past few days the realization that I will indeed be leaving
Asia has finally taken hold. And while I’m certainly excited to see family and friends back home I’m also sad to be leaving. It feels as if I’ve been gone for such a short amount of time, how can it be time to go? Continue reading
The Cameron Highlands
During colonization, in true British fashion a hill town was constructed to offer respite from the otherwise oppressive heat of the rest of Malaysia. After Singapore and KL such an escape became extremely enticing. And so, we left the smog of the city behind and set out in search of more natural settings and a cooler climate. Continue reading
